"Ms. BB chanted in synagogue as a preteen, had classical voice and jazz vocal training and eventually played blues clubs around the world. She's taught improvisational theater and self-defense — she trained in the martial arts — and even hosts her own radio show. Vocally trained though she may be, she obviously isn't afraid to chuck the lessons out the window when the spirit moves her, as it often does.... Marla sings the Star Spangled Banner to kick off the 2008 Iditarod in Alaska, where she also was a sled dog handler for Iditarod Musher & Yukon Quest Champion, Aliy Zirkle.

Marla is a 3rd Degree Black Belt, certified by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation "Kukkiwon" headquarters in Seoul, Korea and leads Self Defense and Martial Arts workshops and lessons.
